This eLearning module is divided into 3 key lessons (Lessons 1-3). Each lesson comprises a video presentation conveying the core material. Most presentations are under 10 minutes long to facilitate opportunistic learning. Supplementary lessons, where non-core material is presented, and relevant printable and downloadable material are also included within most lessons.
The National Adult Literacy Agency is an independent charity committed to making sure people with literacy and numeracy difficulties can fully take part in society and have access to learning opportunities that meet their needs.

This lesson highlights the health literacy needs of many adults in Ireland and explores the impact which low health literacy has on people's health. - Lesson 2: Communicating More Effectively
This lesson considers some key points around written & verbal communication in general practice and provides useful tips for more effective communication of health information in primary care. - Lesson 3: Becoming a Health Literacy Friendly Practice
This lesson focuses on using an audit to help improve health-literacy in your practice'

The Medical Council has defined eight domains of good professional practice. These domains describe a framework of competencies applicable to all doctors across the continuum of professional development from formal medical education and training through to maintenance of professional competence. Since they describe the outcomes which doctors should strive to achieve, doctors should refer to these domains throughout the process of maintaining competence. In order to assist you in planning your professional competence, ICGP eLearning highlight the domains addressed in each module as set out below.
