Welcome to this module focusing on HPV Vaccination, which is one of a series of modules in the ICGP Immunisation eLearning Programme. The purpose of this eLearning module is to provide current, accurate & evidence-based information on HPV vaccination, to help GPs inform parents about the safety and effectiveness of HPV vaccination.

Overview of Module

This eLearning module is divided between 2 key lessons (Lessons 1&2). Each lesson comprises a video presentation conveying the core material.  Most presentations are under 10 minutes long to facilitate opportunistic  learning. Supplementary lessons, where non-core material is presented, and relevant printable and downloadable material are also included within the lessons. Completion of this module will entitle you to 2 External CPD credits.

        The 2 lessons are as follows:
        Lesson 1: Why Vaccinate Against HPV?
        This lesson provides an overview of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which provides a context for HPV vaccination, which is also discussed.

        Lesson 2: Controversy versus Fact
        This lesson addresses recent controversies around HPV vaccination, which have impacted significantly on HPV vaccine uptake.

The Medical Council has defined eight domains of good professional practice. These domains describe a framework of competencies applicable to all doctors across the continuum of professional development from formal medical education and training through to maintenance of professional competence. Since they describe the outcomes which doctors should strive to achieve, doctors should refer to these domains throughout the process of maintaining competence.
